OIG Allows Use of Online Platform for Home-Based Providers Who Pay “Per-Click”

A requestor’s proposal to create an online platform for users to search for and contact home-based health care providers where providers listed on the website would be charged on a per-click basis wouldn’t run afoul of federal fraud and abuse laws, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted December 16.
