OIG Finds Questionable Lab Billing of Add-On Tests on COVID-19 Related Claims

Of the 19,577 labs that billed Medicare Part B for COVID-19 tests in 2020, 378 billed for add-on tests at questionably high levels in volume, payment amount, or both, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in a December 6 report.
