New York Doctor Gets Over 17 Years in Prison for Opioid Kickback Scheme, Improper Prescribing

Gordon Freedman is the latest physician to be sentenced to prison time in the massive kickback scheme surrounding Subsys, a potent fentanyl-based spray, and its manufacturer, Insys Therapeutics. U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Audrey Strauss announced July 8 that Freedman was sentenced to 121 months in prison for his role in the scheme.
