OIG Urges Additional Efforts to Improve State Nursing Home Survey Performance

More than half of the states repeatedly failed to meet one or more performance measures for conducting nursing home surveys during fiscal years 2015-2018, which may increase residents’ risk of harm or poor care, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in a report issued January 18.
