CMS Scraps Final Rule on Medicare Coverage of Breakthrough Devices

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is rescinding a final rule allowing Medicare to cover breakthrough medical devices on the same day they receive Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval citing concerns that the rule didn’t go far enough to protect Medicare patients.
