Hospital Agrees to $48 Million Settlement of Stark, AKS Violations

Texas Heart Hospital of the Southwest LLP, a partially physician-owned hospital, and its wholly owned subsidiary, THHBP Management Company, LLC, agreed to pay the United States $48 million to resolve allegations of knowingly submitted claims to Medicare that resulted from violations of the Stark Law and the Anti‑Kickback Statute (AKS), the Justice Department announced December 18, 2020.
