OIG Approves DME Manufacturer’s Arrangement for Zero-Interest Financing for Customers

A durable medical equipment (DME) manufacturer’s arrangements with two financial institutions to make zero-interest financing available to requestor’s qualified customers presents a sufficiently low risk of fraud and abuse under the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in a June 23 Advisory Opinion.
