OCR Announces Five More Settlements in HIPAA Right of Access Probe

The Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) reached five more settlements with providers of allegations that they failed to provide patients with timely access to their medical records in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule, the agency announced September 15.
