FDA, PTO Looking to Curb Patent Abuses to Promote Generic Drug Competition

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) are working together to help curb the improper use of the patent system to delay entry of lower-cost generics, agency officials said in a July 6 blog.
