The Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) enforcement initiative to ensure patients are receiving timely access to their medical records continued to gain steam with the announcement of four additional settlements of potential violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule’s right of access standard.
