U.S. Court in Texas Says Patient Has Standing to Sue over Hospital’s Undisclosed Service Fee

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas refused to dismiss June 11 a request for declaratory and injunctive relief under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices (DTPA) and Texas common law, finding a patient’s outstanding balance owed to the hospital was sufficient to satisfy the injury requirement for Article III standing.
