The American Health Law Association (AHLA) announces Gregory E. Demske, Partner at Goodwin, as the recipient of the prestigious 2025 Patricia T. Meador Leadership Award.

The Patricia T. Meador Leadership Award recognizes exceptional commitment to fraud and compliance education and mentoring within AHLA's diverse health law community. Established in 2009 by the Fraud and Abuse Practice Group, this annual award honors the legacy of distinguished AHLA Fellow Patricia T. Meador.

"Greg exemplifies the leadership qualities that define excellence in health law practice," said Mark Kopson, AHLA President. "His dedication to advancing fraud and compliance education has strengthened our community and elevated industry standards."

Demske brings unparalleled expertise from his distinguished 32-year tenure at HHS Office of Inspector General, including a decade as Chief Counsel to the Inspector General from 2012-2022. During his government service, he directed comprehensive civil and administrative enforcement initiatives, coordinated False Claims Act cases with the Department of Justice, and provided authoritative Anti-Kickback Statute interpretation.

His transition to private practice at Goodwin has enhanced his capacity to guide health care organizations through complex regulatory landscapes. Demske leverages his comprehensive understanding of government enforcement mechanisms to counsel clients on voluntary compliance strategies and navigate investigations with precision.

Since joining AHLA in 2009, Demske has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to educational excellence through presentations at conferences, webinars, and specialized forums. His service on AHLA's Board of Directors from 2017-2023 included chairing the Membership-IDEA Committee, advancing key membership initiatives, and providing strategic oversight for member engagement programs.

The award will be presented during AHLA's Fraud and Compliance Forum, celebrating Demske's sustained contributions to fraud and compliance education and his commitment to mentoring emerging health law professionals.
