AHLA Announces 2026 Michael F. Anthony Health Law Scholarship Recipients
- November 02, 2026
The American Health Law Association (AHLA) announces the recipients of the 2026 Michael F. Anthony Health Law Scholarship. Molly Sheridan of Saint Louis University School of Law and Katelyn Daniells of the University of Oklahoma College of Law have been selected as this year's scholarship recipients.
The Michael F. Anthony Health Law Scholarship honors Mr. Anthony, a leader whose service shaped AHLA and the health law profession. The scholarship supports law students committed to careers in health law, providing a stipend to offset registration, travel, and lodging costs for AHLA's Fundamentals of Health Law conference.
The scholarship advances AHLA's mission to deliver authoritative educational content and serve as a professional home for all who engage with health law. It also supports AHLA's vision of a diverse health law community working to advance health care.
"AHLA is proud to support Molly and Katelyn as this year's scholarship recipients. Molly's research on pharmaceutical regulation and Katelyn's leadership in building opportunities for fellow health law students show a commitment to the field that extends beyond the classroom," said David S. Cade, Chief Executive Officer of AHLA.
Molly Sheridan, a third-year JD/MPH student at Saint Louis University, is pursuing a Health Law Certificate and an MPH concentration in Health Management and Policy. She serves as Managing Editor of the Saint Louis University Journal of Health Law & Policy.
As a Faculty Fellow, Molly researches pharmaceutical regulation, drug pricing, and access to HIV therapies. As a summer law clerk with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, she supported case preparation in health care fraud and abuse matters.
Molly co-authored "Federal Courts and the End of Affidavit Gatekeeping," published in AHLA's Health Law Weekly Bulletin in March 2026. She aspires to advise hospitals and health systems on regulatory compliance, corporate transactions, and physician relationships, drawing on her public health background.
Katelyn Daniells is a second-year student at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, graduating in 2028 and pursuing a Certificate in International Law. She is a member candidate of the American Indian Law Review and competes on OU Law's Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court team.
As Vice President of the Health Law Student Association, Katelyn expands professional, educational, and networking opportunities for OU Law students interested in health law. In summer 2026, she gained litigation experience with a medical malpractice defense firm and a plaintiff-side civil litigation firm.
Katelyn volunteers with Susan G. Komen and serves as a student advocate with FORCE (Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered). Her interests include health care litigation, professional liability, regulatory compliance, and genetics and hereditary disease. She plans to build a litigation-focused practice representing health care providers and health systems.
Molly and Katelyn will be recognized at AHLA's 2026 Fundamentals of Health Law conference, November 1–3, in Chicago, Illinois. The conference offers both recipients the opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners and build relationships with health law professionals from across the country.
AHLA remains committed to developing the next generation of health law professionals through education and networking opportunities.
