Practical Considerations for a Growing Remote Workforce

Nearly five million Americans moved to a different location since the start of the COVID pandemic due to the flexibility remote work provides. A whopping 18.9 million Americans plan to move in the future as a result of being able to take advantage of remote work options now and in the future.

Indeed, COVID instantaneously highlighted what was a growing area of uncertainty for employers before—how to handle employees’ increasing desire to work remotely from wherever they choose. Once COVID hit, employers had no choice but to allow a significant portion of their workforce to work remotely. Many of those employers and employees, however, put into place temporary fixes and believed expansive remote work would be temporary. They were wrong.
