Earlier this month, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) voluntarily dismissed its appeal seeking to enjoin the merger of Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson) and Albert Einstein Healthcare Network (Einstein). The FTC had appealed the case to the Third Circuit after losing a preliminary injunction motion in the district court. The Commission’s vote to voluntarily dismiss the appeal was 4-0. After dismissing its appeal, the FTC also voluntarily dismissed its administrative complaint in this matter.
