AHLA Announces Kristen Rosati as 2025 Recipient of the David J. Greenburg Founders Award

AHLA is proud to announce Kristen Rosati as the 2025 recipient of the David J. Greenburg Founders Award, the highest and most prestigious honor awarded by AHLA.
Rosati, a partner at Coppersmith Brockelman PLC in Phoenix, Arizona, is one of the nation's foremost experts in "Big Data" and HIPAA compliance. Her legal expertise spans critical areas that shape modern health care, including data governance and strategy, research and innovation data sharing, data breach management, state consumer data privacy, biobanking and genomic privacy, and clinical research compliance.
"Kristen exemplifies what the Greenberg Founders Award represents—a visionary who has fundamentally advanced health law while providing unwavering service to AHLA," said Asha Scielzo, AHLA President. Rosati's dedication to AHLA has been demonstrated through her service as a Past President and her ongoing status as an AHLA Fellow. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Association's educational initiatives, having served on numerous planning committees, including the AHLA Artificial Intelligence Convener Session, Precision Medicine Institute, Academic Medical Centers and Teaching Hospitals Institute, health information technology conferences, and the Annual Meeting.
What distinguishes Rosati's contributions is her forward-thinking approach to emerging legal challenges in health care. As digital transformation reshapes the industry, her pioneering work in data governance and privacy has provided crucial guidance for health care organizations navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Her national speaking engagements have educated countless professionals on evolving compliance requirements and innovative legal frameworks for health care data management.

Rosati's academic credentials include a B.A. with high honors and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan. Her early career was marked by prestigious clerkships with the late Judge Thomas Tang of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge Earl H. Carroll of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, experiences that shaped her rigorous legal approach.

ABOUT THE DAVID J. GREENBURG FOUNDERS AWARD
David J. Greenburg (1925-2007) was the founder of the American Academy of American Healthcare Attorneys in 1967 and the National Health Lawyers Association in 1971. These two organizations came together to form AHLA. David was passionate about health care law and dedicated his career to increasing greater interest in the health care law field and creating a forum for like-minded experts. His tireless efforts generated a collegial community of health law professionals who help each other and the public, a tradition that AHLA continues today.
The David J. Greenburg Founders Award is awarded annually to an individual who has shown great loyalty to the Association throughout their career and has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of AHLA.
