AHLA Publishes the Eighth Edition of the Health Plans Contracting Handbook: A Guide for Payers and Providers

  • February, 23, 2021

The American Health Law Association (AHLA) publishes Health Plans Contracting Handbook: A Guide for Payers and Providers, Eighth Edition. This classic tool for the health law practitioner’s library is filled with concise and detailed advice for addressing the issues that arise for both payers and providers in managed care network relationships.

The book includes nearly 300 sample clauses with contributions from more than twenty authors. Each chapter has been updated for this edition with new chapters added to address the latest trends and emerging issues in managed care contracting. These new chapters address issues such as managed care penetration into Medicare and Medicaid, the rise of direct-to-employer contracting, and more.

“With so many challenges faced by our community due to the global pandemic, there is a need for real-life examples to help inform contract drafting and negotiations,” comments Rob Anderson, AHLA’s Senior Director of Publishing. “This volume will provide reliable guidance to health care practitioners as they navigate the changes ahead.”

Health Plans Contracting Handbook: A Guide for Payers and Providers, Eighth Edition is available to order through AHLA’s store on the LexisNexis website for both members of AHLA and the broader health law professionals community.
