AHLA Celebrates the Winners of the 14th Annual L. Edward Bryant, Jr. National Health Law Transactional Competition
- April, 30, 2025
The Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy Loyola University Chicago School of Law hosted the 14th Annual L. Edward Bryant, Jr. National Health Law Transactional Competition on April 11, 2025. More than 50 students participated in the competition, representing 20 law schools from across the country.
The Transactional Competition exposes law students to the core competencies of the corporate and regulatory practice of health care law. Students applied transactional lawyering skills and regulatory analysis by providing legal advice on a potential business opportunity to a hypothetical health care client. Three-person teams of JD students prepared a legal memorandum that summarized their legal and business advice for the client.
“Moot Court competition is one of the best ways to prepare for a career in law. Whether you litigate, do appellate work, investigations, transactions, regulatory, or counseling - the art of the practice of law is always about listening, learning, preparing, and presenting your case, position, recommendation, and advice to someone – a client, colleague, or court,” comments David S. Cade, Chief Executive Officer at AHLA, during remarks celebrating the Competition. “Your efforts prove to me that you are all well on your way to exciting careers – hopefully in health law!”
