AHLA Announces Mark S. Kopson as New President

AHLA is pleased to announce Mark S. Kopson as the new Association President for the coming year. Kopson began his term as president on July 1.
"Having worked closely with Mark over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact he has as a health law ambassador," said David S. Cade, Chief Executive Officer of AHLA. "His unwavering passion for health care and his relentless drive will be instrumental in AHLA's continued success. I am eager to see the impact he will bring to our organization in the coming year."
Kopson has been an integral member of AHLA for over 35 years, serving in numerous leadership capacities including as Chair of the Education Committee, Chair of the Governance Committee, and member of the Board of Directors since 2017. As Principal and Health Care Industry Group Leader for Plunkett Cooney, he brings extensive experience in health law practice, particularly in managed care, contracting, and governance. Kopson dedicates significant time to guiding and assisting organizations in effectuating positive changes in health equity, providing service to historically underserved populations, and advancing IDEA principles.

Listed among the Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law since 2014, Kopson chairs Plunkett Cooney's Health Care Industry Group and has served on the firm's Board of Directors. He also chairs the firm's Health Care Committee and served on its Diversity & Inclusion Committee. His expertise spans commercial and governmental managed care contracting, regulation, compliance, and dispute resolution.
