About the Program

The AHLA Leadership & Career Development Program (LCDP) is a reimagined, immersive experience designed to strengthen leadership skills, support professional growth, and foster meaningful connections across the health law community. Grounded in AHLA’s commitment to developing future leaders, the program brings together professionals across career stages for focused learning, dialogue, and engagement – emphasizing leadership readiness, influence, and organizational stewardship that benefit participants within AHLA and across their firms, organizations, and communities.

Who Should Attend

LCDP is open to all health law professionals seeking to strengthen leadership and career development skills, including students, early career professionals, experienced practitioners, and current or aspiring leaders.

The program features two complementary tracks – one focused on advanced leadership and organizational stewardship, and one focused on career development within the health law profession – with intentional opportunities for participants to learn and connect across career stages.

Program Format & Experience

LCDP is designed as a concentrated, in-person weekend experience immediately preceding the AHLA Annual Meeting. The program blends instruction with facilitated discussion and peer exchange, creating space for reflection, dialogue, and meaningful connection across the health law community.

Program Highlights

  • Lunch with the AHLA Board of Directors (Saturday): An opportunity for direct engagement with AHLA leadership and insight into the organization’s strategic direction.
  • AHLA Awards Dinner (Saturday Evening): A newly reimagined, Board hosted event celebrating excellence in the health law community. LCDP participants may purchase tickets during registration.
