AHLA's Impact Report

Opening Doors of Opportunity to a Diverse Talent Pipeline

As a supporter of creating a diverse and prominent talent pipeline, David Matyas has seen the critical impact AHLA has made over the years to advance initiatives and opportunities for younger generation health law professionals. In response, Matyas joined AHLA’s efforts by making two major donations to support future generations and inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) initiatives.

“AHLA has been extremely important to me and my career as it is where I have built long-lasting professional and personal relationships with members and staff,” said Matyas. “I joined AHLA as a law student, and through my membership, I learned the multitude of facets within the health law industry.”

AHLA seeks to advance and promote a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible environment for all Association members to share ideas, enhance their educational opportunities, and find community. As the Association continues to lead the health law profession to excellence, AHLA strongly encourages its members to embrace diverse opinions and world views through thoughtful participation and sharing of ideas.

“As AHLA has doubled down its efforts to support and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion—an issue that I believe strongly in—I have been compelled to double down as well,” Matyas said. I hope that mine, and others’, contributions earmarked for this cause can help move the needle and allow many future generations of health lawyers to continue to benefit from the organization’s resources and opportunities.”

Since 1968, AHLA has provided educational resources and services to ensure all health law professionals are equipped with the tools they need to meet rising health law challenges. Donations made by organizations and individuals like David Matyas ensure AHLA can continue to support a diverse talent pipeline of next-generation health law professionals by providing innovative professional development opportunities.
