Hospitals Oppose CMS Rule To Combat Fraud In COVID-19 Relief Funding Distribution

The Wall Street Journal (9/12, Armour, Subscription Publication) reported hospitals are pushing back against a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services policy tying federal coronavirus reimbursements to positive COVID-19 tests. The Journal added the providers argue the rule deprives them of congressional relief funds, but CMS argues the rule exists to prevent fraud.
