I had no idea what the American Health Law Association was this time a year ago. Having rarely crossed paths with health care law as a third-year general litigator at a small firm in Atlanta but wanting to specialize my practice, I lateraled into the health care group at a big firm. Just six days from when I started and (literally) hours from when I was explained the difference between Medicare and Medicare Advantage to draft a complaint, I found myself in Washington, DC at the AHLA Annual Meeting.
