U.S. Court in Wisconsin Rebuffs Physician Wrongful Termination Claims Related to COVID Protocols

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin dismissed August 26 a physician’s claims for wrongful discharge and tortious interference based on his belief that he was fired for complaining about a hospital’s COVID-19 protocols early in the pandemic. Instead, the court found that the hospital canceled the physician’s shifts for legitimate business reasons.
