CMS Rule Details Medicaid Work Requirements as States Face Implementation Challenges Ahead

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released this week an interim final rule with comment period (91 Fed. Reg. 33348) for states to implement new Medicaid work requirements included in last summer’s reconciliation measure that apply to certain able-boded adults between the ages of 19 and 64 starting January 1, 2027.
