OIG Calls for Addressing Explosive Growth in Medicare Spending on Skin Substitutes

Medicare Part B spending on skin substitutes in non-institutional settings has soared in the last few years reaching more than $10 billion annually by the end of 2024, prompting the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) to call for urgent action on payment reform.
