Ninth Circuit Says Out-of-State Mental Health Treatment Coverage Denial Did Not Violate Parity Laws

The Ninth Circuit held November 9 that defendant UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company did not violate federal or state mental health parity laws when it denied coverage for a plan participant’s out-of-state residential treatment of anorexia nervosa.
