U.S. Court in California Allows Portion of Breach of Fiduciary Duty Claim in United Behavioral Health Dispute to Move Forward

A federal magistrate judge in California held August 5 that a long-running dispute involving United Behavioral Health’s (UBH’s) use of internal guidelines in denying coverage of mental health services could move forward as to a breach of fiduciary duty claim based on the duty of loyalty and the duty of care.
