Providers That Missed PRF Reporting Deadline May Have Another Chance to File

  • April 08, 2022

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced April 4 that providers who missed the deadline for reporting how they used Provider Relief Funds (PRF) may be able to file late if “extenuating circumstances” prevented them from meeting the applicable deadline.

Starting April 11 through April 22, providers who missed the Period 1 deadline can submit a request to report late. If HRSA approves the request, providers will have ten days to submit a report in the PRF Reporting Portal. If the request is denied, providers must return all PRF funds to HRSA that were not reported in the applicable reporting period.

HRSA defines extenuating circumstances as severe illness or death, natural disaster, lack of receipt of reporting communications, failure to click “submit” prior to the deadlines, internal miscommunication or error, and incomplete targeted distribution payments.

The extenuating circumstances request is available for all PRF reporting deadlines, HRSA said.
