OIG Allows Oncology Lab to Provide Free Supplemental Report for Cancer Screening

An oncology company that provides a screening test for colorectal cancer (CRC) may provide consenting patients with a supplemental report regarding several other cancers at no cost without running afoul of the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) or Beneficiary Inducements CMP, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted May 20.
