Biogen Agrees to $22 Million Settlement of Allegations It Paid Kickbacks Through Foundation

Biogen, Inc. agreed to pay $22 million to resolve claims that it violated the False Claims Act by illegally using foundations as a conduit to cover the copays of Medicare patients taking the pharmaceutical company’s multiple sclerosis drugs, Avonex and Tysabri, the Justice Department announced December 17.
