A federal bankruptcy judge in New York approved November 18 a bankruptcy plan for Purdue Pharma L.P, the manufacturer of OxyContin, that includes a $7.4 billion settlement with the company and the Sackler family to resolve state and local government litigation over their alleged role in fueling the opioid epidemic.
