Final Rule Allows Plans to Increase Cost-Sharing Without Losing ACA “Grandfathered” Status

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the Departments of Health and Human Services and Labor published December 15 a final rule (85 Fed. Reg. 81097) that allows grandfathered group health plans to make additional changes to certain cost-sharing requirements without causing them to lose their “grandfathered” status under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
