California Sues Former 23andMe Company over 2023 Genetic Data Breach

California Attorney General Rob Bonta filed May 27 a lawsuit against Chrome Holding Co., formerly known as 23andMe, over a 2023 data breach that compromised sensitive personal information and genetic data of nearly 7 million customers nationwide, including more than 850,000 Californians.
