U.S. Court in DC Sides with Hospitals in Dispute over Interpretation of Rural Reclassification Statute

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia granted May 14 summary judgment to six hospitals, finding the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS’) interpretation of a Medicare statute governing reclassification of hospitals to rural status was contrary to the plain text of the statute.
