Hospice Company Owner Draws 20 Years in Prison for Fraud Scheme

Health care company owner Rodney Mesquias was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison after his conviction by a federal jury for a fraud scheme related to falsely telling thousands of patients with long-term incurable diseases that they had less than six months to live and subsequently enrolling them in hospice programs, the Department of Justice announced December 16.
