U.S. Court in Massachusetts Allows Challenge to Proton Beam Therapy Coverage Denial

UnitedHealthcare Insurance Co. failed to convince a federal court in Massachusetts to dismiss a putative class action under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) alleging it improperly denied coverage of proton beam radiation therapy because it was more expensive than other traditional cancer treatments.
