MRI Provider Agrees to OCR Settlement of Possible HIPAA Violations

Vision Upright MRI, a small California health care provider that conducts magnetic resonance imaging and related services, has agreed to implement a corrective action plan and pay $5,000 to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to resolve potential violations of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Breach Notification and Security Rules, the agency announced May 15.
