OIG Greenlights Providers’ Remittance to Patients and Payers of Portion of Reimbursement Through Web-Based Platform

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued December 28, 2020 a favorable advisory opinion for a proposed arrangement involving a web-based platform where certain health care facilities and clinicians would remit to patients and their payers a portion of the claims for certain services that may include payments from Medicare as a secondary payer.
