OIG Finds Opportunities to Improve State Oversight of MLR Reports in Medicaid Managed Care

Nearly half of the annual medical loss ratio (MLR) reports that Medicaid managed care plans submitted to states were incomplete, which may present a substantial obstacle to oversight and to ensure accurate MLRs, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) found in a September 22 report.
