Home Health Agency Employment Sign-On Bonuses Could Violate AKS, OIG Says

A home health agency’s proposal to offer signing bonuses to prospective employees who are relatives of potential clients would be a prohibited offer of remuneration under both the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) and the Beneficiary Inducements CMP, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an unfavorable advisory opinion posted January 5.
