Federal Judge Approves Purdue Pharma’s $5.5 Billion Opioid-Related Plea Deal

A federal judge in New Jersey signed off April 28 on OxyContin manufacturer Purdue Pharma LP’s $5.5 billion plea deal with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to resolve criminal charges that it conspired to defraud the federal government and pay kickbacks to physicians to increase prescriptions of its drugs.
