U.S. Court in Maryland Rejects EMTALA Claim Because Patient Failed to Show Disparate Treatment

A federal court in Maryland said a patient who alleged a hospital delayed screening her emergency medical condition because of racial animus could not maintain a claim under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) because she provided no evidence of disparate treatment.
