CMS Final Rule Boosts Oversight of Medicare Accrediting Organizations

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published June 16 (91 Fed. Reg. 36370) a final rule aimed at strengthening oversight of Medicare accrediting organizations (AOs) that inspect thousands of hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities for compliance with federal health and safety standards.
