Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) remains a significant focus of Medicare program integrity oversight. In Fiscal Year 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reported $1.9 billion in improper payments associated with DMEPOS, representing more than 21% of total DMEPOS payments. As a result, suppliers continue to face heightened scrutiny from Medicare contractors and oversight agencies.
