CMS Updates to Medicare Telehealth Services and the End of the Public Health Emergency

On November 18, 2022, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) promulgated several new telehealth policies in the Calendar Year 2023 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule (MPFS 2023). CMS’ telehealth policies in the final rule responded to the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 (CAA 2022) as well as the possible end to the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE).
