TE/GE Fiscal Year 2020 Overview

The Tax Exempt and Government Entities (TE/GE) Commissioners recently released their Fiscal Year 2020 Accomplishments Letter. One of the overall themes for TE/GE from this past fiscal year was the transition towards technology for both efficiency purposes and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-related accomplishments cited by the Commissioners include assisting with processing the Form 7200 (Advance Payment of Employer credits), performing quality reviews, and handling error notice letters related to the Form. Additionally, TE/GE supported Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Legislative Affairs with responses to the public and congressional inquiries regarding COVID-related economic impact payments.
