On August 12, 2021, UnitedHealthcare (UHC) entered into a settlement with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the New York Attorney General, and a class of private plaintiffs over assertions that UHC had violated federal and state mental health parity laws by treating patients with mental health issues disparately from patients with physical health complaints.
