The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (the “2018 Farm Bill”) passed both houses of Congress on December 12, 2018, and President Trump signed the bill into law on December 20, 2018. The 2018 Farm Bill received widespread bipartisan support, largely because it overrides the previous definition of “hemp” under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.
