AHLA Signs CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion Pledge
- February 10, 2021
David S. Cade, AHLA’s Executive Vice President/CEO, joins more than 1,600 CEOs who have committed to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace through the CEO Action Diversity and InclusionTM pledge.
The pledge outlines a specific set of actions AHLA will take to cultivate a trusting environment where all ideas are welcomed, and employees feel comfortable and empowered to have discussions about diversity and inclusion. Specifically, Mr. Cade has pledged:
- To continue to make AHLA a trusted place to have complex, and sometimes courageous conversations about diversity and inclusion.
- To implement and expand unconscious bias education for staff and leaders of the Association.
- To share best–and unsuccessful–practices with fellow signatories in order to catalog effective programs and measurement practices.
- To create and share strategic inclusion and diversity plans with AHLA’s Board of Directors.
Additionally, Mr. Cade has reaffirmed that AHLA will expand accountability systems across the Association to track progress and to share regular updates with the membership.
“There is no silver bullet when it comes to strengthening diversity, equity, and inclusion within our Association and the health law community which we serve,” comments Mr. Cade. “However, this is one important step to show our commitment to meaningful change and to share best practices across the business community as AHLA leads conversations on racial and other inequities in health care and potential solutions to dismantle barriers.”
